Frontlines Team
Interested in joining this Team?
Thank you for your interest in being a part the Frontlines Team here at The Father’s House. We are thrilled that you want to be a part of the team and are looking forward to seeing what God has plannedfor you. We are first and foremost committed to nurturing your heart and helping you grow as a follower of Jesus. To this end we want to help you understand and use your God given gifts (whether it be on the worship team, sound, tech, or another ministry within the church). A reality of this process is that the various functions of the Frontlines Ministry (i.e. Musician, Vocalist, Sound, Tech) require specific skill sets and levels of mastery. As such, we want to help you find the right fit for your desired area of service and for your specific gifting.
There are also certain requirements and expectations that will comewith serving in this part of the church.
Who should apply?
• Vocalists
• Instrumentalists
• Tech (lighting, visual media, and audio/sound)
Is The Father’s House your Church Home?
To be a part of the Frontlines Ministry, we ask that you have made the decision that The Father’s House is your home church. With that comes the expectation that you regularly attend (even on the days that you are not scheduled to serve). We encourage you to be immersed in as much of our church community as possible (i.e. Life Groups, Classes, Events).
Musical Excellence
As mentioned above, a certain level of musical skill, technical skill and/or experience is required for anyone who serves on the platform worship team or part of the tech team. A number of these skills, especially some of the tech roles (such as, computer slides, and lighting) are easy to learn and quickly applied. However, there are other areas, such as sound board, musical instruments, and vocals, where a certain level of mastery is essential. This means that not everyone will be ready to join the platform teams right away and after joining the worship team rotation, each musician/vocalist is expected to make a commitment to regularly listen to and practice the music, especially for the dates when they are scheduled. We encourage musicians to never stop learning or growing. We wholeheartedly support you doing whatever it takes to continue your growth in your instrument and/or area of service.
Currently, worship teams read the music via chord charts (song lyrics with the Chords printed above). You will need to be able to read and follow a standard chord chart and have a good grasp at the type of music that we play.
Equipment
Instrumentalists are expected to have their own instruments (with the exception of drums). Electric Guitarists must have their own amp and pedals, if necessary. If this may be an issue, please do not hesitate to contact Brent to discuss.
Time Commitment
Time commitment is a major facet of being a part of the Frontline Ministry team. Each person is expected to honor the time we have together. This means showing up early and being ready to practice at the time scheduled. Currently, we have Sunday morning rehearsals at 7:15am. Any other rehearsals will be made known in advance. (We are working on securing a regular Thursday night rehearsal time.) If you need to miss a rehearsal and/or know ahead of time that you are going to be late, please inform Brent Helming (or the specific worship leader for the scheduled time) as soon as possible. Being on time honors everyone on the team. Your punctuality shows that you value others and helps to accomplish our common goals.
Once again, we are excited that you want to become a part of the Frontlines ministry and we lookforward to growing in Christ and serving His people with you.
Blessings on You,
Brent Helming
