What We Believe
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal.
(Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; 1 John 5:7; II Corinthians 13:14)
We believe that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is God's eternal, inspired, infallible Word in its entirety, and is the supreme standard and final authority for all conduct, faith and doctrine.
(II Timothy 3:16-17; Proverbs 30:5; II Peter 1:19-21)
We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis, and man's total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness. (Romans 3:23; 5:12, 18; 6:23; 7:18, 21-25; 8:1-9)
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man.
(Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14)
We believe that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples.
(I Corinthians 15: 1-6; Romans 4:23-25)
We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, and His exaltation as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
(John 14:1-3; Philippians 2:9-11; Revelation 17:14; 19:11-17)
We believe in Christ's personal, literal return (second coming) for the church.
(I Timothy 6:14-16; Matthew 24:30-31, 42, 44)
We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12-15; Romans 5:11)
We believe sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God's Word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of Christ's character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
( I Thessalonians 4:3; 5:23; II Cor. 3:18; 6:14-18; II Thessalonians 2:13-14; Romans 8:29; 12:1-2; Hebrews 2:11)
We believe in the sacrament of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in order to fulfill the command of Christ and publicly identify with Jesus.
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)
We believe in the table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord's Supper, for believers as a memorial celebration of the fellowship of the body of Christ and our redemption through His blood.
(I Corinthians 11:17-26)
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit given at Pentecost. It is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His ascension, to empower the Church to preach the gospel throughout the whole earth.
(Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5; 2:1-4; 17; 38;39; 10:38, 44-47; 11:15-17; 19:1-6)
We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit manifested in a variety of ways to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection and confirm the power of the Gospel. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters.
(Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11; 12:4-8; I Corinthians 12:1-31; 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10)
We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith
(Ephesians 5:18; II Corinthians 6:14; 7:1)
We believe that healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus and is included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign which is to follow believers. It is also part of Jesus' work on the cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit.
(Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16;17; Mark 16 :17-18; Acts 8:6-8; James 5:14-16; I Corinthians 12:9; 28)
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus' great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Ephesians 1:22; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:17-23)
We believe in eternal life for believers--a literal heaven where we will live and reign with Christ--and we believe in eternal punishment for unbelievers--a literal hell for those who reject Christ.
(Mark 9:43-50; John 3:16; John 5:24; John 14:2-3; John 17:3; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels.
(Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10-15)
We believe that every believer is to identify themselves with the visible church of Christ for spiritual protection and long-term fruitfulness.
(Hebrews 10:25; 13:17; Acts 16:5)
We believe that the rules and laws of civil government should be upheld at all times except in things opposed to the will of God.
We believe that the method ordained of God for the support and spread of His cause is by giving of tithes and free-will offerings.
(Malachi 3:10; II Corinthians 9:7)
